A Nigerian, Shahin Nouri has made history after winning a MotorSport event in Belgium on the same track the Belgian Grand Prix held some days ago.
Details are still coming in, but Leipert Autosport reports that Nouri won the 24 hour race which had 50 cars in competition.
After his victory, the Nigerian national anthem was played.
“Fort the first time in Nigerian history! The #Nigerian national #anthem has been played for a#Motorsport #Victory at the #legendary#F1 #track of #SPA #Francorchamps in#Belgium. The same track where Rosberg and Hamilton had their Formula 1 race this weekend. I am very #proud of this! Putting #Nigeria at the #Top!” Nouri wrote on Instagram.
Nouri is originally a Swiss but sees himself as a Nigerian after living in Nigeria with his family since 2003.
Nouri is married to Tatiana Moussalli, the daughter of the GMD of Cool FM, Wazobia FM, Cool TV and Wazobia TV.
He is the first person to represent Nigeria at any international Motor racing competition
